Thanks to incredible help from an old friend, Frank Frederick, whose “basso profondo” James Earl Jones-sounding voice, The Invitation to the Shining City is now available as a 9.5-hour audio book. It’s taken several months, some edits and revisions, but author Greg Jarrard has released it for sale. Its regular price is $24.95, but with the coupon, you can save $5.

But you need the secret code at check-out.

If you have spent some time in the “Backstory” section of this website, you will have learned that our 30th president, Calvin Coolidge, returns from his spiritual abode (he died in 1931 at the fairly young age of 61) to once again lead a spiritually invigorated United States. He is joined other Americans who cherish “one nation under God,” including famous Saturday Evening Post illustrator Norman Rockwell who is showing his work at a weekend farmers market in the “Shining City on the Hill.”

Jarrard was persuaded by friends even older than himself to offer the book in audio form or double the size of the type, so he chose technology over 24 point type for the text of the book.

Oh and the secret discount code? If you know what year Calvin Coolidge was elected president in his own right, that’s the secret number (1924). That little bit of information just saved you $5!

By the way, once you buy the audiobook and download, if you wish to have larger, “higher-res” audio file, go to the Contact Page of the website and request one. You’ll receive the 750 megabyte file at no additional charge (once you buy it).

Wishing you good listening!
